it has been 42 times ~~we get a holiday!~~ have celebrated this day. the same "traditional" style with people marching and people who gets the great privilege of rehearsing for the great show during a time called curriculum time pretending to be fishes of some sort in all sorts of BRIGHT BLAZING colours (super obiang la!) surely they could have claim loads of CAS hours.

yesterday, the school decided to have a combine celebration for this very nation. of course it had to be held in a setting with some sort of royal ambiance. so they decided to have it in this huge area with great facilities like many houses and swimming pool too. it was of great honour having a celebration in the queens' town. there were loud music, shouts of joy, huge balloon, games, so much commotion during the entire day (indeed everyone was excited about the event so much so that people thought of means and ways to exit the place to spread the joy around!) well done the BB and scouts ppl and chaya. wow we have 2 SOH in our class.

it has been 7 whole months since we have entered or remained in this institution. many many things have happened. the great adventure trip to a neighbouring country. helping people and having fun with elephants! we have been through the common tests. we go through the routine of completing dead-lines. IAs the all so familiar acronym to all of us. day in and out we go through this similar routine and time passes all so quickly.

but of course there's more than all these academic stuff in school. recently we have the Festival of arts (FOA). yet another acronym. from the drama matinee that our dear Christabel who loves chocolates like her pencil case's caption reads: "hand over the chocolates and no one get hurts" performed in. a very demanding yet loving wife of the artist! you know i always imagine cao to be like authoritarian of china! like our great mao! or more commonly known as PRESIDENT mao!

after the drama shows we have the viva la musica, giving a singaporean theme to do concert LA! the choir and guitar put up a great concert! of course the CPAC too! sure i do love their body paint/make up. very professionally done indeed. the repertoire consists of songs from all around the world including songs that gave a truly asian feel! well doneeeeeeeeeeee kerry and hanan! oh and michelle too! MR!

following that we have the band putting up a fantastic concert too as usual! well done derek! lastly we had the philharmonic concert playing a variety of pieces from all strings pieces and the finale including the very first percussion section of the philharmonic orchestra! and they marked an end of the FOA!

Hey all clubbers, imean clu13ers, here are some proposals for things we can do happily as a class such that we not only suffer the endless days of IB together but escape from it together.

RUN
OK, some of us are sadistic enough to go running extra rounds after PE, but for most of us, perhaps we can convert PE from an experience in pain and misery and heaving to one of more enjoyment, by having some sort of running practice.

It'll take a bit of getting used to. But lets just GO!

***MUSIC APPRECIATION
Howabout we pass round a portable hard drive to share whatever music
Literally whatever. Just plug it in, put it on, pass it on./
It'll be like a box o chocolates. You never know what you'll get.
Another method would be thumbdrives. cds. (which is already much in action)

we could use it for sharing photos and videos too.

PROCEDURE
Plug it in. put in anything you want, perhaps under a file under your name. or we could create genres.
Pass it to anyone you want.
don't LOSE the hard drive or LEAVE it to collect dust.
Keep it moving!

CONDITIONS:
music = universal language. no restrictions

Undesired Chemical Reactions!

well recently the class had did a chemistry experiment due to our avid interest in the group four subjects especially chemistry! well we had our chemistry lesson yesterday. and we were learning about periodicity. and one of the trends is that a neutral atom is smaller (more united) than its anion.

our teacher gave us an analogy of a birthday party! well there's a cake divided equally for each person in the class to have. WHAT IF (or perhaps it had happened) someone comes and join the party then the slice of cake that each person was supposed to have originally will DECREASE in size. oh my! with an extra election then there will be REPULSION and the SHIELDING EFFECT will increase! oh no! surely that's not a good thing to have!

so we did a experiment on a hot and sunny day. where we engage in some sort of activity that required movements of our limbs and objects that look somewhat like atom. its a chemistry practical wad! :P and an UNDESIRED CHEMICAL REACTION OCCURED! we were all shocked! and true enough there was REPULSION! we were all separated to different parts in an enclosed area. we were surrounded by belts that move around and it seemed like there were MANY UFOs attacking us. and we had to FIGHT-ALL-YOU-CAN! though we might have INCREASED our shielding effect against the ailens but we were drifting away from the CORE and perhaps not as united for that moment! what tragedy! but we soon learn to be UNITED against the evil electron that caused an International Outcast Nation-wide epedemic!

as IB students we have to include an evaluation and conclusion portion on our chemistry practical report...

hey. long time since someone has post. hehe. well we have been all rather busy with tests and wad nots with the 2 BEST group-4-central-subject-human-beings-who-imparts-knowledge-or-so-they-call-it-"knowledge"-to-us (NOT!) that our class have. ohmygosh. perhaps one of them who is particularly in love with this age of high technology when we are able to ONLY and i mean ONLY STARE at the screen (cannot touch paper, pen, dig nose, sneeze, cough, twitch right eye brow, slap cheek --- which one though? haha).

well tmr is the 121st founder's day! and we got a really AWESOME G-O-H! opposition sia! im sure chong wee is exceptionally happy. maybe he wants to go have a little chat with him regarding having UPGRADE to "ZHNG MY LIFT"! so can stop every floor mah.

well so tmr just a reminder to everyone bring erm MATS. we are gonna have picnic tmr at 7.30am. bring some food just in case other classes might join us! instead of watching the swans swimming in front of us in the pond in botanic gardens. tmr we have special guest appearance. with cool music and marching on the first day of march! HAHA! well enough rubbish. I WAS BEING SARCASTIC! (im adding this cos some people actually thought it was for real. so hopefully this is more EXPLICIT) well we know that it just rained, and tmr we are prolly gonna be sitting down on the astroturf. and it will be SOAKING WET! so...

hey everyone! first time im blogging on the class blog. anyways its been a great first month! and im guessing a great cny! here are a couple pics fm the friday lunch outing. (i apologise for uploading it so late... i'll put the rest up picasa)

thanks to everyone who donated things for the cny decorations! even though we didnt get first place, i guess we did our part in giving the class its cny atmosphere, and to show class unity! also thanks for contributing to the newspaper drive! thanks to mich for co-ordinating it=)

Sentosa Outing!

enjoying your CNY eh?

Date: 21 Feb 2007 (wednesday)
Time: 9.30am
Venue: Harbourfront MRT
Activities: whatever we can do on a large area cover with sand with a ball and frisbee and salty water

well we were meet there then i think have some food (for those people who wake up at 925am and rush down so didn't have breakfast) then we will take the shuttle to sentosa ($3-4). if there's a disgusting long queue. let's go on our cross the sentosa bridge expedition. then we take an intra sentosa shuttle to palawan beach/the tanjong beach where no one will bother us.

in the event where it rains... then we go shop vivo, catch a movie in our flip flops! or we can take mrt to PS for a pool session.

it started with a few pleasant surprises....

'mmmm'

'awwww'

goes kenneth the cookie monster. (whose cookie was later devoured by fabriz (nearly spiff, but spiff exhibited gentlemanly behaviour mah))

followed by a pretty intense game of captains ball.

which later evolved into poison ball,

due to the high chance of us destroying 'prime school property'

we then headed down to the SAC for some refreshment and to listen to derek play superb piano. and try and singalong to coldplay.

alright so i see that all you CLU13ers had fun yesterday!
ok so anyways just some reminders!

1) Please pay Fraser $5 for report book if you shine a torch light through your right ear and light can come out of your left ear (meaning all the new students = the ppl in class who have XX chromosome)

alright joke joke. please don't murder me! :P

2) and if you haven't pay our T-Reks $5 for the CNY class fund and what nots. please pay tmr!

3) Please bring MORE NEWSPAPERS AND TEXTBOOKS TMR!

4) Class outing/Lunch tmr! Bring extra clothes or what seems necessary! (definitely not your mum! points to erm cough cough)

love is in the air! x)
yes! it's valentines day! a day of bonding and remembering of our loved ones and friends no doubt. and this was no exception in the humble walls of CLU13. the day started off with the girls giving out heart pins and cards to the guys and our CT/PCT. x) we basically enforced upon every CLU13-er to put on these pins as a sign of, i don't know, loyalty & love for the class? yes. and in return, the guys gave out roses to the girls. (aww!)
well. the day then trudged on till 1440, and we (well, most of us anywhere) got together to play a class captain's ball! =) well, at least till someone stopped us, in fear of dirtying the ceilings. X) so we decided on a less violent (hmm, subjective!) game which wouldn't threaten the poor ceilings above - POISON BALL. haha. yes. im sure we all had great fun bonding on this S.A.D (single awareness day) as a class. =) since i guess, cliche as it sounds, its the fellowship which counts, and not so much the actual activities! X)
yes. and of course. valentines wouldn't be valentines without the usual teasing! haha. and yes. i have to say. and boldly say it too. With the love in the air, we all LOVEEEEE 5.13 loads! YES? love!

14th february. thanks for all the sweet treats offered so generously in the name of looovveee. particularly to the girls of CLU13 woot. thanks for all the wonderful effort in making the cute badges and baking the cupcakes with nuts. sorry for not matching up with just roses! x) lalala

well though there wasnt any anglolympics for us to cheer in. we played captains ball and poison ball instead! great time of bonding mans. we should really try to have such stuff more often. stay healthy too!

on a side note, remember to keep your friday afternoon for class lunch free! wheee

hello wonderfully genetically diverse people of CLU13! i second the motion of having a monorail in school. we could go around in one cabin singing/playing random music and charging money (dollar-dollar-ching-ching) for the class fund! after which we can buy a class fridge and laptop for everayboday and DDR machine (club must have dancing what), among other things.

deborah is feeling inexplicably high right now, do pardon the crap.

ANYWAY, photos. they are as the page says,

blogger feature abuse! like auto size and bolding blah blah. i have an inkling that i will come back in two hours and see the same page and no photos and retreat sadly to shutterfly or something. otherwise blogger is ahem refreshing and userfriendly and alot of crap that is causing me to devolve into incoherent oblivion okay BYE!

well well. so i guess we all did (relatively) well right!
yeah i know my cousin did well. so he did RELATIVEly well!
hurhur.

one thing that caught my attention was the announcement made by the student councillor
regarding suggestion box
and the monorail thingy was hilarious!
imagine we did a class podcast on the monorail!
we have mr be-on-guard as our monorail captain saying:
"welcome to the school's holistic monorail services (with the distinctive AH at the back of each sentance)"
and we have random announcements like:
"keep the school clean, the school is yours!"
"don't bring food and drinks our of the SAC ah"
"doors closing,( beep beep beep beep beep) next stop multi-purpose hall"
"for your own safety, please stand behind the yellow line (behind a tall friend if you don't want to get the sun shining on you during assembly)"

and GOSH our class sings SUPER well!
better than a certain organisation starting with C rhyming with WIRE.
it was really class bonding time and indeed heart warming!

in relation to the previous post abt single dinner.
im a sing-le-porean so does that make me SINGLE!

the 2 very knotty situations during school
well i shall leave it up to you to decide what's so knotty abt it
well as we know in maths, we learn something called common factor.
i shall use animals to form a simultaneous equation.
1) porcupine
2) boofalo
3) zhang lang
porcupine + zhanglang = 2 < X < 4(equation 1)
porcupine + boofalo = ?! (equation 2)
it was indeed a LAUGH OUT LOUD situation.
though it is REALLY funny, but i tell you sometimes PERHAPS
its more than it meets the eye.
